Points of Sail !
| The points of sail are established according to the angle formed on the wind. So depending on the angle between the direction from where the wind comes and address to which the yacht sails.
| 1. In Irons
It has range of about 40 ˚ to 45 ˚ right and left blowing in the wind. Within this can not sail a sailboat.
2.Close Hauled
It is the closest sailing into the wind. 3.Close Reach
Going to leeward from close hauled around 20ο.
4.Beam Reach
The sail with the wind to be blowing directly over the side of the yacht.
5. Broad Reach
Open Beam Reach with the wind coming over the left or right of the yacht.
6.(Training Run
Open sailing, 10 ˚ to 15 ˚ deviation from run.
7. Run

o Δεξήνεμο είναι όταν ό άνεμος έρχεται από την δεξιά μεριά του σκάφους.
o Αριστερήνεμο είναι όταν ό άνεμος έρχεται από την αριστερή μεριά του σκάφους.
o Σοφράνο είναι η προσήνεμος πλευρά.
o Σταβέντο είναι η υπήνεμος πλευρά.
o Ορτάρει σημαίνει ότι σκάφος στρέφει προς τον άνεμο.
o Ποδίζει σημαίνει ότι σκάφος στρέφει αντίθετα προς τον άνεμο.
o Αναστροφή (tack) σημαίνει ότι ορτσάροντας φέρνουμε τον άνεμο στην άλλη πλευρά.
o Τσίμα ή Μπότζα σημαίνει ότι ποδίζοντας φέρνουμε τον άνεμο στην άλλη του πλευρά.
o Φάτσα, είναι η μεταβολή της διεύθυνση του ανέμου έτσι ώστε να μας έρχεται σε πιο κλειστή (μικρή) γωνία από εκείνη που είχαμε πρίν, ενώ το αντίθετο ονομάζεται σιγόντο.
